“When I meet you, in that moment, I am no longer a part of your future. I start quickly becoming part of your past. But, in that instant, I get to share your present and you, you get to share mine. And that is the greatest present of all.”
So on bright sunshiny days, I do this thing where instead of walking around with my arms down by my side, I fly my “dork” flag, and walk around with my palms up.
Now you’re wondering why I’d do such a thing?
My response to you is…have you ever tried it?
When you walk with your palms up, you FEEL EVERYTHING.
You feel the sun’s warmth on EVERY part of your hand, you feel the slightest breeze, you feel the weight of the air…
and sometimes, if you’re lucky, a ladybug lands on your finger.
And after watching this video, which is filled with such optimism & conviction (Sarah Kay is just too cute),
I love the idea that walking with my palms up
means I’m ready for anything that life might drop my way.
Enjoy the video!
And, for reals, try walking with your palms up sometime.
