I’m going to be super honest with you guys, it’s been really hard for me to deal with the earthquake in Japan. People have been asking me about it nonstop either because they know I’ve lived in Japan, they know I’m part Japanese…and sometimes, really, they ask me just because I’m Asian. But to see a place that you consider home, a place that you’ve probably loved more than anything else in the world, a place where you’ve experienced nothing but love and true hospitality, in such a heartbreaking state…I read the articles, watch the video clips, even summon the strength to look at pictures now & then…but I’ll tell ya, I get about 20 sec in before my heart’s throbbing so bad I can feel it in my throat & I’m just a single blink, half-blink even, away from letting it all fall. I know y’all are used to me dropping sarcastic one-liners & half-naked tattooed chicks, and I’m sorry to get all Emo on you right now, but it just has to be said.
Please, please help out in any way you can.

Below are some photos I took from my last visit there a few years ago. The quality of the photos could be better, but beyond that, wading through photos of earthquake stricken Japan can be heavy stuff, overwhelming, difficult – sometimes coming up for a little air now & then, being reminded of its beauty, can help. Ok…I’m done being Emo now.
